Tokyo Podcast 24: Happy Movie

In a recent survey the New York Times found that Japan ranked 90th in the world and dead last among industrialized nations for happiness and less economically developed countries such as Bangladesh ranked much higher. My guest today is film maker Eiji Han Shimizu who’s new film ‘HAPPY’ attempts to find the answer to the age old question of what makes people happy?

Shimizu and his crew combine cutting edge scientific research in the field of “positive psychology” with real life stories from people around the world to bring to the audience a message of hope and happiness. Through these and other stories HAPPY leads us toward a deeper understanding of how we can all live more fulfilling, healthy and happy lives.
